Whilst you may not have heard of Burnt Basque Cheesecake but you’ve likely heard of San Sebastian Cheesecake. It originates from the resort town of San Sebastian in Spain but was recently popularised on social media by the Viyana Kahvesi cafe in Istanbul near the Galata Tower. I visited this cafe that serves the Basque cheesecake with melted chocolate on top back in Feb 2023 and I LOVED it, one year later and I’ve finally nailed this recipe! It’s incredibly delicious, I can’t recommend it enough and that’s coming from someone who isn’t the biggest cheesecake fan in general.
